Citigroup Wealth Advisors Supports Enterprise Education in Australia

Sydney – As part of a global commitment to voluntary community service, Citigroup Wealth Advisors today joined Australia's leading enterprise education program for high school and university students. Delivered through Young Achievement Australia, the Business Skills Program prepares students for careers in business by developing their skills to successfully operate in a commercial environment.

Young Achievement Australia is an independent, national not-for-profit agency that works with young Australians, fostering business leadership and entrepreneurial skills through enterprise education. Citigroup Wealth Advisors will mentor up to fifty students in Sydney and Melbourne as part of Young Achievement Australia's 2007 Business Skills Program.

The Business Skills Program matches groups of students with a team of mentors, and challenges them to set up and run a business over a period of six months. Students gain hands-on decision-making experience, explore career opportunities in a business environment and test their entrepreneurial ability. Under the guidance of their mentors, students take responsibility for the entire business cycle including raising capital; designing, marketing and selling a product; financial reporting; and liquidating company assets. The most outstanding business ventures will be recognized in November at a national awards ceremony.

Head of Citigroup Wealth Advisors in Australia, Jim Carideo said: "The Business Skills Program is a great way for young people to experience the highs and lows of working in a business environment. It gives participants an understanding of what it takes to be successful in business by allowing them to make business decisions in a safe and supportive environment."

"Mentors play an important role in the Business Skills Program, steering students through the difficult challenges of running a business. Citigroup Wealth Advisors is committed to supporting community programs that encourage our employees to use their skills and expertise and which assist young people who are grappling with the transition from school to work," Mr. Carideo said.
