Citibank Thailand Christmas Charity Campaign Celebrates the Season of Giving
 
Bangkok – To celebrate the season of giving, Citibank in collaboration with the National Council of Social Welfare Thailand (NCSWT) under royal patronage, have launched the 2006 Citibank Christmas Charity Campaign.
 
"Like last year's program, the 2006 Christmas campaign invites Citibank card members to redeem their Citibank reward points and donate them to support an NCSWT scholarship program for financially challenged students," said Mr. Amit Sah, Country Business Manager, Citibank Thailand.
 
Citibank customers can make a donation at Bangkok's trendy Erawan shopping mall which features a nine-meter high Citibank Christmas tree.
 
Mr. Sah added, "We are delighted to again partner with NCSWT, and through the 2006 Citibank Christmas Charity program our aim is to help and support more Thai students. We are honored to be able to contribute to the community and to a project that will have a long-term positive impact."
 
Speaking on behalf of NCSWT, Assistant Professor Dr.Vajiraya Buasri, Secretary General, NCSWT said:
 
"We are very happy to be involved in another Citibank Christmas Charity Program. We would like to thank Citibank for their support for many other educational based initiatives in Bangkok and other parts of the country. We wish Citibank employees and customers a very happy 2007."
 
Citibank's partnership with NCSWT has spanned more than five years and highlights include:
  1. The Student scholarship and Development camp – includes the provision of 200 scholarships nationwide.
     
  2. E-learning initiative to set up a large-scale IT classroom at Yannawate Wittayakom School.
     
  3. Citigroup Success Fund program – to support creative teaching programs in Thailand.
     
  4. Citibank Public School Partnership Program – to provide support (financial, equipment) to government schools and childcare centre in rural areas of Thailand.
     
  5. Financial Education Program – to raise the quality of life for individuals and families as well as the communities in which they live.
From now till January 15, 2007, for every 900 Citibank rewards point, a Citibank card member can donate 100 baht to the scholarship fund. They can do this by calling CitiPhone Self-Service Banking at 1588 or logging on Citibank Online at www.citibank.co.th.
 
A receipt from the NCSWT will be delivered to Citibank card members who have made a donation after January 15, 2007.
