Citigroup Interactive Bourse Game Experience Appeals To Kuwait’s Treasury Officers
Citigroup Treasury Adds Reality to FX & Money Market Lessons
Kuwait City – About 30 of Kuwait’s top-tier corporate treasury, finance and Investment officers spent hours on a simulated trading floor learning the finer points of foreign exchange trading, as part of an Introduction to Money Market and Foreign Exchange seminar, otherwise known as Bourse Game.
Delivered November 4th through the 8th by Citigroup Kuwait, the five-day seminar was conducted by Mr. Fatah Adour, Citigroup Kuwait Treasurer, and Theodore Leventis, better known globally as the “Bourse Master,” who’s been running the Bourse Games for both Citigroup staff and customers for the last 24 years in over 55 countries around the world.
“The bank’s novel approach was well received by treasury, finance and investment officers of top local companies and financial institutions,” said Raj Dvivedi, Citigroup Country Officer in Kuwait.
The seminar covered main money market and foreign exchange topics including structure of rates, FX swaps and interbank dealing. The trading floor was abuzz with activity and excitement as teams representing fictitious banks placing foreign exchange rates bids and keying in orders at brisk pace, “traders” yelling on telephones and groups of people in serious discussion over hedging and investment strategies. The seminar ended with a competition for best “trading bank” and attendees received seminar certification.
“The response to this unprecedented approach has been very encouraging. Trainees learned from the hands-on experience and developed a more insightful understanding of investment opportunity as well as risk, and how markets worked on a global scale,” said Dvivedi.
“The trading floor scenario demonstrated to our clients the sophistication in markets and the transparency in the approach and execution that Citigroup practices as it acts on behalf of clients,” added Mr. Adour. “The Bourse Game Seminar provided a tremendous insight on the mechanics of FX dealing, and all attendees have called for a repeat.”
